<리차드 용재 오닐 & 세종 솔로이스츠 2008 아람누리 신년음악회>
‘꿈의 앙상블’이라고도 불리는 세종솔로이스츠가 2008년을 맞아 경기도 일산의 고양 아람누리(www.artgy.or.kr)에서 <리차드 용재 오닐 & 세종 솔로이스츠 2008 아람누리 신년음악회(이하 2008 신년 음악회)>를 연다. 2008년 1월 22일에 개최되는 이번 공연에는 전세계를 돌며 공연을 갖는 솔로이스츠 단원들이 모두 참석해 희망찬 새해를 여는 아름다운 선율을 관객들에게 전할 예정이다.
세종솔로이츠 단원들
세계 언론으로부터 ‘지휘자 없는 최고의 앙상블’이라는 극찬을 받는 세종솔로이스츠. 그들은 줄리어드 음대 교수이자 음악감독인 강효와 한국인 연주자를 주축으로 1995년 미국 뉴욕에서 창립된 최고의 현악 앙상블이다. 특히 <2008 신년음악회>에서 기대되는 공연은 리차드 용재 오닐(비올라)과 이유라(바올린)의 협연이다. 리차드 용재 오닐은 같은 세대의 비올라리스트 중에 가장 뛰어난 인물 중 한 명으로 일찍부터 국제무대에서 두각을 드러냈다.

용재 오닐은 2004년 5월 KBS <인간극장>을 통해 어려움을 딛고 세계적인 음악가로 성장한 과정이 알려지면서 많은 관심을 받았다. 여기에 지난해 10월 국내에 발매된 솔로앨범 <Winter Journey>도 그의 빼어난 연주 실력에 힘입어 높은 판매고를 올렸다.
이유라 역시 우리나라의 차세대 바이올리니스트로 주목받는 음악가 중에 한 명이다. 그녀는 1994년 미국 줄리아드 음대에 입학한 이후에 뉴욕 필하모니와 볼티모어 심포니등 세계 유수의 오케스트라와 협연을 가졌다. 2002년에도 미국 카네기 홀 공연과 더불어 유럽의 9개 저명 음악홀을 돌면서 독주회를 여는 영광도 누렸다.
대한민국이 낳은 세계적으로 주목받는 ‘천재 음악가’인 용재 오닐과 이유라 그리고 그들에 버금가는 실력을 자랑하는 젊은 음악가들이 즐비하게 소속된 세종솔로이스츠가 음악으로 전하는 희망과 사랑이 가득한 음악을 <2008 신년 음악회>에서 만나보자!

또한 이날 공연이 끝나면 공연장 근처의 박물관에서 열리는 <모딜리아니와 잔느의 행복하고 슬픈 사랑전(이하 모딜리아니와 잔느전)>도 방문 해보자. 젊은 나이에 숨을 거둔 ‘비운의 천재화가’ 모딜리아니와 그의 마지막 연인이자 아내였던 잔느가 남긴 유화와 드로잉이 국내 최초로 전시되고 있다. <2008 신년 음악회>를 관람한 고객은 현장에서 티켓 구매시 30% 할인된 가격(7,000원)으로 전시를 즐길 수 있다.
